The Learning / Expedition [ek-spi-dish-uhn]

The word "expedition" often invokes a sense of adventure, intrigue, discovery, something exotic. Grounded in the belief that life is a journey, of learning and discovery, UnSchool is on a mission to create world class learning expeditions. Expeditions where the child's curiosity is the driving force, where questioning and inquisition are the vehicles, the guides are themselves travelers on the path and the goal of the journey is intellectual satisfaction, fulfillment, insight and enlightenment. On the journey of life, sometimes you walk, sometimes you run, sometimes you just be and be a part of the world, sometimes you admire, other times you wonder, but every time you learn and you teach.

"Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn" - Benjamin Franklin

Experience is how we learn to talk. Experience is how we learn to walk. Experience is how we emote, empathize, relate. Experience is the paradigm that permeiates human development. Experience cannot be had sitting in place. It takes movement, touching, feeling, seeing, smelling, imagining and connecting. Everything that UnSchool does centers on involving everyone in creating the experience. Co-created experiences ensure that everyone learns. On the journey of life, the learning expedition, everyone walks. There are no palkhi's, doli's where the "students" are carried by the "teachers". Everyone is self sufficient traveling together on a shared journey, helping each other along the way!
